House in Well-Cared for Fortified Village
Rocca dates back to over a 1000 years ago. It was almost certainly a fortification used by the Ligurians, it was one the first fortifications of the Apuan Alps.
The village is well kept and well populated, just 10 minutes drive from the rail station at Borgo a Mozzano.
This stone house is built on 3 floors. One enters into the open-plan living area with stunning views. This living area is divided into an eat-in kitchen, a living area and a dining area.
There are no radiators but all the pipework is present for the central heating. Currently, the house is used as a holiday home as only uses a fireplace and pot-bellied stove.
The bathroom is located on a mezzanine level.
The first floor has three panoramic bedrooms.
Underneath the house, there are 2 large cantinas, one of which has an elderly Viessman boiler in it. It shows that the house is built directly on the bedrock.
There is a piece of the garden accessed by the steps that lead down to the cantinas.
