Fantastic Building Land on which to Build a villa or Underpin the existing House
The closest town is Villa Collemandina has a baker, butcher, chemist, café, post office, and doctor's surgery as well as a petrol station. There is picnic area near the "Lago di Villa" lake in Villa Collemandina, which provides trout for fishing. The Lake is a meeting place for families with a playground and has paths for walks.
Just 5 minutes drive away is Pontecosi village with its pretty lake, churches, traditional houses also has a café/village shop right on the shores of the lake, which not only stocks basic groceries but which sells ice cream and a small but tasty selection of reasonably priced hot and cold snacks.
There is also a very challenging 9-hole golf course here.
The other side of the land plot is Castiglione di Garfagnana which is a fortified town with shops, bars and restaurants.
The closest train station is in the Medieval market town of Castelnuovo di Garfagnana lies in the heart of the Garfagnana National Park, as this stretch of the fertile valley of the Serchio, flanked by the Apuan Alps to the west and Apennines to the east, is known. The district provides a range of sporting activities and promotes folk, agricultural and cultural events.
Just above this location are the ski slopes of Il Casone which are great for learning and then a little further is Monte Cimone where there is an entire resort which slopes from green to black in difficulty.
The stunning city of Lucca is one hour away by car, less by train. Pisa airport are about 1.5 hours away.
